Sociological Imagination
Fred Hampton, Ralph Ellison, the Combahee Statement all discussed aspects of the black experience in the United States. Some convey personal and social perspectives, some clearly sociological, and at least one interpretive and impressionistic. Try to evaluate these three readings and explain how their approach differs even though their subject matter remains the same. Highlight how each author’s own ‘sociological imagination’ works.
