TOKYO, Oct 4 (Reuters) – Sony Group Corp’s gaming business is looking at fresh investment to bolster its push into PC and mobile, a senior executive said, as the PlayStation 5 maker competes for talent with deep-pocketed rivals and as industry dealmaking heats up.

The hacker, who also claims to be behind a cyber incident at Uber last week, posted a message on the forum about seeking to ‘negotiate a deal’ with Take-Two Interactive Software, owner of Rockstar, which publishes the GTA games. 

Sony, whose studios are known for single player console games such as “Spider-Man” and “God of War”, has outlined ambitious plans to release titles on PC and mobile and offer live service games, which provide continuous updated play.

Sony on Thursday introduced its PlayStation Stars loyalty program for PS5 and PS4 gamers. It’ll be free to join, and players will be able to earn loyalty points by completing a variety of campaigns and activities. Players can choose from a catalog of options to redeem points, including PlayStation Network wallet funds and select PlayStation Store products.
