Assessment task details and instructions

Your task is to:

Select one of the two case studies provided within the Assessment 2 folder; either “Collaboration at OnDemand Business Courses, Inc’ or “I just can’t work with her: Team conflict in the North East Sales Division.’

Study this and then write a report of 3,000 words (this can be over or under by 10%, i.e. 300 words) which addresses the following points, making sure that you reference academic ideas from across the module (theoretical explanations & evidence) to support the points you make:

1. Structural sources of the conflict and lack of collaboration – what are the sources, how and why are they impacting on good team working (30 marks)

2. Individual behaviours – what unhelpful individual behaviours/factors are present, why are they unhelpful? (30 marks)

3. Improving the situation – what practical steps can be taken to improve the situation? Justify your recommendations by referencing academic work (40 marks)

Your report should follow a business report style and include:

· A title page (Name, Student ID, Organisational Behaviour Assessment 2, Word Count)

· Contents table

· Executive Summary

· Introduction –

· Then a main body structured into numbered sections and sub-sections which have headings

· Conclusion

· Reference list (Use the University’s Harvard APA 6 style of referencing)

· Possibly an Appendix.

You should look at the assessment criteria (rubric) in the Assessment 2 folder in Blackboard to find out what we are specifically looking at in the assessment. Note that assessment criteria are split into 10% bands from ‘extremely poor – 1 to 9%’ through to ‘outstanding – 90 to 100%’.
