Choose a movie from the list below and follow the instructions.  Your paper must be in APA format.  You must include the film citation and at least two other scholarly sources on your reference page.  Substitutions are not allowed!  I have also included the movie ratings.
Lucy (2014): (Rated R) Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Discuss the how the brain works.  Is the movie accurate regarding how the brain functions according to scientific research?  Provide specific examples.  Explain why or why not
The Imitation Game (2014): (Rated PG-13) Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Describe the social effects of ostracism.  Discuss how this relates to psychology.
The Experiment (2010): (Rated R) Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Discuss how the movie is similar to Zimbardo’s Prison Experiment.
American Psycho (2000) or Get Him to the Greek (2010): (Both Rated R) Describe the movie in a brief paragraph.  Define narcissistic personality disorder and describe symptoms and behavior.  Discuss whether or not your think the movie accurately portrayed narcissistic personality disorder.
Requiem for a Dream (2000) or Candy (2006): (Both Rated R) Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Discuss the different types of addiction displayed in the movie. Discuss withdrawal and tolerance.  Explain the biological, psychological, and social effects of addiction.
Stand By Me (1986): (Rated R) Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Discuss the different developmental stages that the boys are in according to different developmental psychologists.  Give examples of peer pressure, the influence of peers, and effects of parenting styles.
Regarding Henry (1991) (Rated PG-13), Memento (2000) (Rated R), or 50 First Dates (2004) (Rated PG-13): Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Discuss anterograde amnesia and the accuracy of the portrayal in the movie.  Provide specific examples.  Discuss the real life struggles that family members might experience while caring for someone with anterograde amnesia.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012): (Rated R) Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Define bipolar disorder and discuss the different types of bipolar disorders.  Describe behavior and symptoms.  Discuss whether or not your think the movie accurately portrayed bipolar disorder.
Precious (2009) (Rated R), Reign Over Me (2007) (Rated R), Black Snake Moan (2007) (Rated R), or The War (1994) (Rated PG-13): Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Define PTSD and describe how it is portrayed in each of the characters.
The Joker (2019) (Rated R), The Soloist (Rated PG-13): Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Discuss mental health treatment policies and compliance as it relates to the characters in the film.  What are some current policies in the US that stigmatize or prevent individuals from getting treatment?
Temple Grandin (2010): Summarize the movie in a brief paragraph.  Describe autism spectrum disorders.  Discuss myths and misconceptions about the disorders.  Give examples of parenting and teaching techniques in working with students with an autism spectrum disorder.
