Mrs. Field is diabetic, overweight, hypertensive, and obese. She is non-compliant with her Dr’s instructions because she is not willing to make the lifestyle changes that the Dr outlined. Mrs. Field woke up in the morning and could not move her right hand and had difficulty speaking. She was brought to the hospital by ambulance. After being seen by the physician, she was diagnosed with a stroke.

2. Using the above scenario and Roy’s RAM, answer the following questions.

Mr. Smith is a 34-year-old male. He is married and has two children. Mr. Smith is a safe driver, wears his seatbelt, and expects his children and wife to wear seatbelts when in the car. On his way to work, Mr. Smith had a blow-out of his front tire resulting in his loss of control and running into a tree. He was brought to the Emergency Department and found to have lacerations, two needing sutures. Mr. Smith was treated and released home.

As Mr. Smith prided himself on driving safely, he was very upset about the accident. He and his wife sat together to evaluate how to prevent this from happening again. The Smiths decided that as part of their maintenance plan they would have all the tires on their vehicles checked now and monthly.

Her wound became infected and will require several weeks of antibiotic therapy to heal. She is in severe pain from the infection. Jane Doe lives alone and does not have anyone to help her. She has not been able to adequately perform personal hygiene and has not been able to clean her home. Jane Doe is a very meticulous person about her personal hygiene and the cleanliness of her home. Her inability to maintain her personal standards is making her very depressed.
